St. James AME Church 2021 Vision Statement

To my St. James AME Church Family,

Greeting and salutations on behalf of our miraculous, marvelous, and Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.  Let me first say I am so grateful for those persons God has placed in my ministry, who have been a great asset to our church and to our ministry.  We are blessed and highly favored to have the technological and panoramic expertise of persons qualified to allow us the privilege to present a viable and top-class virtual presence in these times of pandemic and social restraints.  I wish to thank our technologic person, our camera and productions personnel, our music staff and singers and our ministerial staff for their support and underlying determination to make St. James the best we can be.

We are facing an unknown future as we prepare to provide ministry to the greater Pittsburgh community.  We are trusting God and depending upon each other to remain constant and relevant in these critical moments of uneasiness and frustration.  With God, and remaining together, we can pursue all of the promises God has provided in God’s word and in God’s plan for our church and our ministry.

This year is going to be a different kind of year.  We are praying for a vaccine and a medical plan to alleviate all of the pandemic fears within our community.  God has a plan, and we are included in that plan.  Keep on praying and practicing safe behavior and watch the Lord bring us through.

Our theme this year is, “Working Together Through critical Times,” and our scripture is 1 Corinthians 15:10.  This is our foundation upon which we will work and thrive during a year which the world is saying, impossible.  We have the faith and the power of God to do miraculous things.

Ministries, Organizations and Boards, we must be creative in our planning for this conference year.  We “can’t” is not in our vocabulary.  We are the “I Can” people because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.  As we plan our year of ministry let us think outside of the usual and focus on new and innovative methods of serving God and community.  Nothing is impossible for God!  Everything is going to be alright!
